We are gearing up for our 5th annual feed the homeless and hungry event. We are getting super excited as we didn’t realize that we have hit 5 years so soon. Our date is based on the birthday of our Founder’s late Mother, Cassandra W. Umstead and we have stuck with it for a few years.
This year we hope to feed 200+ people breakfast on December 7, 2023.
Our 2nd International Service Project! Can you believe it???
We had the amazing opportunity to return to Huellas De Pan in Cancun, Mexico for our 2nd International Service Project. We had some amazing sponsors/friends/volunteers to accompany us on this adventure. We were able to provide our friends at Huellas de Pan with some much needed supplies such as food items to help feed the 250+ children that come to their location weekly and replaced the broken large containers/totes that help them w/ pickups and deliveries of food. These supplies will help them continue to fight food insecurity for school aged children in Cancun, Mexico.
During our visit not only were we able to pick up and deliver supplies. We were able to help the children practice their English, which was a delight as they were so excited to utilize their skills. We also helped serve lunch, which let us know how much of an impact Huellas de Pan has in the community as they were able to make foods stretch for the masses and children were able to eat as much as they wanted for lunch. They asked if I would make a special meal the next time we came.
We were so thankful for this opportunity to serve! Before we left the staff already asked if we would come back next year!
(So we need to do some fundraising for the project for next year 😉 )
If you would like to donate to future projects, please let us know. We accept donations via Paypal and Check. With your help/support we can make it back to Huellas de Pan in 2024!
We are thrilled to be traveling back to Cancun, Mexico SEPTEMBER 2023, to continue our international volunteer project with Huellas De Pain. On our second journey back to the organization’s headquarters we plan on providing them with much needed supplies to help serve the children of the area.
Huellas De Pain is an organization in Cancun that helps fight food insecurity, provides after school support to children, as well as a food pantry for the local area.
If you would like to contribute to the supplies that we will be taking to them, please donate to our PAYPAL.

WE were so excited to host our first Professional Development Workshop for Families Moving Forward in June 2023. Our founder was the facilitator and we had a host of wonderful volunteers and participants. Every person left the workshop with great feedback and each person learned something new from the experience. Our goal as a non profit organization is to serve everyone, not just the participants, we expect our volunteers to also feel like they were served as well. That is the beauty of what we do and how we do it!
Hello and welcome to our non-profit organization’s YouTube channel! We had the pleasure of hosting our annual feed the homeless and hungry breakfast in Durham, NC on December 7, 2022. We were able to make 180 plates for the community and had a great time doing it.
We would like to thank all of our community sponsors, donors and volunteers for helping us with this successful event.
We hope to continue to have events like these in the future!
We were able to have our very first collaboration with a Corporate Volunteer Group from The Holt Team of New American Funding. They were a great group to work with.
Our Menu consisted of a “cookout style” meal. We made 1/4 hamburgers and hotdogs, we had salad, chips, dessert items, water, and soft drinks.
We made 100 plates and were able to give them out to the homeless/hungry population.
The Holt team also provided 75 toiletry bags to give out during lunch.
We had a chance to serve in the Durham Community on May 8, 2021. We served breakfast for 91 people and it was a very successful event. We were even able to give out 100 plates.
