Our First International Project Collaboration-Cancun, Mexico Feb 2022

We were able to setup our first international “pop up” project in collaboration with Huellas de Pan in Cancun, Mexico. They are an organization that fights hunger and combats food insecurities by providing a place that children can come to and eat a meal and participate in various activities.

This staff from this organization was so welcoming and received us very well. With the help of google translator we were able to communicate in Spanish and work together for the day.

Our organization was able to provide supplies for the February birthday celebration and help with some painting for the Valentines Celebration decorations. We were excited about this collaboration and will continue to work with this great organization for years to come. (fingers crossed)

With proper funding we can make this a regular event.

september 18, 2021 “cookout”

We were able to have our very first collaboration with a Corporate Volunteer Group from The Holt Team of New American Funding. They were a great group to work with.

Our Menu consisted of a “cookout style” meal. We made 1/4 hamburgers and hotdogs, we had salad, chips, dessert items, water, and soft drinks.

We made 100 plates and were able to give them out to the homeless/hungry population.

The Holt team also provided 75 toiletry bags to give out during lunch.

MGB Foundation assists in Jan 29, 2020 PIT (Point in Time) Count Night Durham, NC

We were able to send our founder to participate in the Point in Time Count night in Durham, NC. This is a program that has volunteers team up with local law enforcement to count the members of the homeless population residing in unsheltered environments. These places can be local parks, abandoned parking lots, buildings, etc. The count is done to help with accounting for people for the census and it helps with funding for services to help with the homeless population in the city/state. This count is done at night every year in Durham, NC.

Teams are able to go out with blankets, gift cards and other information to assist the people that are found throughout the night.

Here are some photos from that night. Our founder with a team was able to help identify 2 people that needed assistance and give information to those people to help them seek out housing and various services.

WE had a chance to “pop up” in Greensboro, NC at the Pathways House to serve a delicious meal to the residents of the family shelter. We prepared enough food for 50 people. It was great chance to engage with people in another location as well as grow our volunteer base. We also took a tour of the facility and engaged with the staff. We can’t wait to return.
