In addition to helping with advocacy training, we are committed to bringing joy and companionship to our seniors. Our volunteers will visit elder care facilities, offering their time and companionship to brighten the days of residents. A friendly conversation, a shared story, or simply a listening ear can make a world of difference.

At Misstakenid Gives Back Foundation we believe in the power of community and the importance of support. Through the Misstakenid Heroes & Elder Alliance, we strive to provide the resources and compassion needed to uplift our seniors and veterans.

Celebrating Success and Community at Families Moving Forward 3/22/24!

Friday, March 22, 2024 was a day filled with joy and gratitude as we marked the end of an inspiring journey with the completion of our ‘Success Looks Different For Everyone’ Fireside Chat Pilot Workshop Series at Families Moving Forward. Our participants, who have been the heart and soul of this program, were celebrated in style with a delightful luncheon provided by our generous partners at Alpaca.

As if that wasn’t enough, they were also treated to special gifts from Ruth’s Chris and Linda’s Nails, making the day even more memorable.

Reflecting on the journey, it’s been incredibly rewarding to witness the impact of this professional skill-building workshop. The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, and we’re proud to have created an experience that resonated so deeply with our community. None of this would have been possible without the support of our partners, volunteers, and the entire Families Moving Forward team. We are immensely grateful for this opportunity to make a difference and look forward to continuing our mission of empowering individuals to define and achieve success on their own terms.

Thank you to everyone who has been a part of this journey. Together, we are truly making a difference!

Note: All participants are not featured on the images, all participants that completed the pilot program with attending more than one session received a certificate.

Our 5th Annual Feed the Homeless/Hungry Holiday Breakfast Dec 7, 2023 was a Success!!

We had a chance to go back to where we started feeding large groups, Urban Ministries of Durham for our 5th Annual Feed the Homeless and Hungry Holiday Breakfast.

We had a great time serving in the community and we were able to provide a hearty meal to 230 people that are either suffering from homelessness, food insecurity or both.

Not only did we purchase items our team also worked the industrial kitchen and prepared a delicious breakfast menu consisting of turkey sausage, turkey bacon, grits, hasbrowns, eggs, fruit, breakfast pastries, juice, coffee, water. Aside from preparing the breakfast we helped pass out lunch bags that were also donated from other organizations.

The population that we served was very thankful and expressed gratitude. As a treat, we had our resident DJ, Tobias Mayor Morrison spinning the holiday hits while they enjoyed their meal. This brought great joy to all and contributed to the wonderful experience.

We would love to thank all of those that volunteered their time and a special thanks to all of the individuals that gave monetary donations.

We would also like to thank our community sponsors for this event : Indulge Catering and WEGMANS.

It really takes a village and numerous donations to prepare a meal for over 200 people. If you would like to donate to future events for 2024 please click on our donation page!

WE will continue this event in 2024, and it will take place on December 6, 2024 in Durham, NC.
