As the founder of the Misstakenid Gives Back Foundation, I am constantly inspired by the power of collective action and the profound impact we can make when we come together. Our mission is to create meaningful community service experiences that leave lasting impressions, and we can’t do it alone. We’re reaching out to you, our community, to ask for your support as volunteers in various capacities. Whether you can spare a few hours for an in-person service project, help with development and fundraising, or assist with general administrative tasks, your time and skills are invaluable to us.

in person service projects

Our in-person service projects are at the heart of what we do. These projects range from providing meals to the homeless to senior support, veteran/patient advocacy and skill building workshops. We believe in creating opportunities that allow people to make a significant impact in a short amount of time. If you have a few hours to spare and a passion for hands-on community service, we would love to have you join us on the ground.

development & fundraising

Sustaining our initiatives requires resources, and this is where your help can be transformative. We are looking for volunteers with a knack for fundraising, grant writing, and event planning to support our development efforts. Your expertise can help us secure the necessary funding to continue our mission and expand our reach. IF you want to host a fundraiser for our organization, let us know!

general administrative support

Behind every successful organization is a strong administrative team. We need volunteers to assist with tasks such as data entry, social media management, and communications. If you have organizational skills and a few hours to contribute each week, your support can help ensure our operations run smoothly and efficiently.

As we bid farewell to another incredible year, we find ourselves reflecting on the journey that we have shared together at the Misstakenid Gives Back Foundation. Your unwavering support has been the heartbeat of our mission, and we are filled with overwhelming gratitude.

To every donor who believed in our cause and contributed generously, thank you for being the driving force behind our initiatives. Your kindness has touched lives, sparking positive change in ways that words can scarcely capture.

This year your donations helped pave the way for our new Professional Skill Development workshop series at a new local homeless shelter, pay a visit to our friends in Cancun, Mexico where they needed supplies and food to help feed 200 school aged children, and most importantly helped us continue to fight food insecurity here in our hometown of Durham, NC feeding over 250 people at our annual holiday breakfast. Your commitment to making a difference has empowered us to reach new heights, and we are thrilled to share these victories with you.

Beyond the tangible impact, it is the spirit of generosity and compassion that truly defines our community. Each contribution is a testament to the belief that, together we can create a brighter future for those in food insecure areas and underserved populations.
