New Beginnings in June 2023: The Start of our new Professional Development Series

We provide pop up community service and are mostly known for fighting hunger/food insecurity. WE have fed many people and we are now able to step into our second goal, professional development.

At the Misstakenid Gives Back Foundation we believe that helping to change the thinking pattern of an individual is another way to help someone succeed. Our new professional development workshops will help people to think outside of the box, in hopes to serve them in a different capacity.

Our first workshop series is titled “Success Looks Different For Everybody”- A fireside chat. WE are able to create a space to allow participants to think about success in a way that they never have. There will be great discussions to help retrain all of our brains to what “success really looks like”.

We were able to hold our first Fireside Chat in June of this year (2023). WE look forward to hosting this workshop across many communities. Our founder is the facilitator of the workshop and enjoys working with different people to keep this workshop moving/ evolving to help reach many people.

New Partnership in 2023: Families Moving Forward “Bloom Brunch”

In April of 2023, we started a new partnership with a local family shelter in Durham, NC.

WE are happy to be working with Families Moving Forward!

We kicked off our partnership with the First Bloom Brunch on June 2, 2023. We had an amazing time with the residents. We were able to provide food, door prizes, a DJ and a great introduction for our organization to start work with continuing our work of showing people that Volunteering can be fun.

This was the spread for the residents!!

We would like to thank all of our volunteers and donors that helped make this possible and continue to support us as we serve the community.

Our First International Project Collaboration-Cancun, Mexico Feb 2022

We were able to setup our first international “pop up” project in collaboration with Huellas de Pan in Cancun, Mexico. They are an organization that fights hunger and combats food insecurities by providing a place that children can come to and eat a meal and participate in various activities.

This staff from this organization was so welcoming and received us very well. With the help of google translator we were able to communicate in Spanish and work together for the day.

Our organization was able to provide supplies for the February birthday celebration and help with some painting for the Valentines Celebration decorations. We were excited about this collaboration and will continue to work with this great organization for years to come. (fingers crossed)

With proper funding we can make this a regular event.

We were able to have our very first collaboration with a Corporate Volunteer Group from The Holt Team of New American Funding. They were a great group to work with.

Our Menu consisted of a “cookout style” meal. We made 1/4 hamburgers and hotdogs, we had salad, chips, dessert items, water, and soft drinks.

We made 100 plates and were able to give them out to the homeless/hungry population.

The Holt team also provided 75 toiletry bags to give out during lunch.
